Morpheus8 Side Effects and Safety

Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive skin treatment. It has shown little risk for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is more common in other skin resurfacing methods. However, as with any cosmetic procedure involving needles, there are possible side effects of Morpheus8 that patients should be aware of.

Your skin may be red and swollen immediately after the procedure, but these effects should go down within a few days. Patients may also get small scabs on the treated area within the first 24 – 72 hours following the procedure.

How Long Do Morpheus8 Results Last?

You will be able to see results from Morpheus8 treatments within a couple of days. Because the elastin in the skin tightens during the therapy, some patients may see minor benefits immediately.

One month after the procedure, you can expect your skin to appear noticeably tighter, smoother, and more youthful. Many patients continue to see progress for up to three months post-treatment. Morpheus8 results are permanent, and your skin will continue to age from its new point of improvement.

Morpheus8 Aftercare and Recovery

After receiving Morpheus8 RF microneedling, patients should care for their healing skin using the following practices in order to prevent complications.

  • Always wash your hands before touching or washing your face
  • Use clean towels and pillowcases
  • Keep the face clean with mild, fragrance-free soaps
  • Avoid makeup and other cosmetic products for the first few days
  • Avoid direct sunlight for the first few days
  • After 1 day, use SPF 30 or higher sunscreen anytime you go outside
